VA executed an inmate for murdering a deputy and a hospital guard. This happened because 1, he was a criminal and 2, was being transported from the jail to the hospital for reasons that were not mentioned. This was an excuse. This was a plan from the start. A lot of criminals when arrested try to pull this stunt thinking they will get away with their crimes. He over powered and killed the guard, escaped and during the man hunt the following day, killed the deputy.
His lawyer said "his crimes were the result a severe mental illness that prevented him from distinguishing between delusions and reality."
BULLSHIT. Next execution please.
